About Stepping Stone Academy
2008년, 건강한 교회는 건강한 리더십을 필요로 한다. 교회의 건강한 리더십은 목회자와 평신도가 함께 하는 팀사역의 시너지 효과를 만든다. (구)디딤돌 리더쉽 아카데미는 필그림선교교회에서 평신도사역자 양성프로그램으로 부터 시작하여 미셔널 처치사역의 일환으로 구성되었다. 하나님의 나라를 확장하기 위하여 2008년 10월, 여러 분야에서 전문적 활동을 통해 다양한 경험을 쌓고 있는 평신도들에게 리더쉽 훈련의 기회를 제공하고, 미자립 교회들을 위한 교육프로그램을 지원하는 사역과 그리스도의 제자 양성을 위한 리더십사역에 작은 밀알이 되고자 하였다. 필그림미션교회 목회자들과 전문강사진의 구성으로 된 ‘평신도리더쉽과정’ 을 시작하여 지역사회의 연합공동체를 이루고, 교회성장에 어려움을 겪는 교회들을 위한 초교파적 평신도 사역자, 교육전도사, 찬양사역자, 심방전도사를 양성하고 지원하며, 교회의 전문 리더쉽을 세우기 위하여 해마다 다양한 세미나와 다양한 주제로 컨퍼런스를 주최하고 있다.
The Stepping Stone Leadership Academy was established in October 2008 by the pastors of Pilgrim Church to train leadership to lay people who are accumulating various experiences through professional activities in various fields to help serve and grow in the united community of local churches and local communities. The 'Lay Leadership Course' program was started with the composition of professional instructors, and various seminars and conferences were held every year.
2017년, 뉴저지 비영리단체로 등록, 이사회를 발촉하여 21명의 이사진이 구성되었고 ‘평신도리더쉽과정’을 전문적으로 체계화시키기 위하여 일년에 봄학기와 가을학기로 나누어 학기당 12주 일정으로 매 학기 4과목을 수강하는 1년 과정으로 마련하였다.
2018년, 3분의 자문위원들을 운영진에 추대하면서, 교회들의 어린이와 청소년 교육부서 교역자와 교육전도사 부족을 겪고 있는 중소교회들을 돕기 위하여 2년과정의 ‘교육전도사 수료증 과정’을 소개하였고 사역자 분노조절과정을 파트너교회들과 연합하여 시작하였다.
In 2017, it was registered as a non-profit organization in New Jersey, and the board of directors was appointed and the board of directors was composed of 21 members. It was prepared as a one-year course.
In 2018, three advisors were added to the board of directors, and the two-year 'Education Evangelist Association Certification Course' was introduced to help churches that are experiencing a shortage of ministers and educators in the children and youth education departments of churches. started in association with a partner church.
2019년, 배움의 공동체와 네트워크를 구축하여 교사로써의 소명을 일깨우고 기독교교육의 전문성을 신장시키며 현장전문교육가로 다음세대를 이끌수 있는 기독교사로써 교회들의 교육부 교사양성을 위하여 교사학교를 신설하였다.
2021년, ‘디딤돌 아카데미, Stepping Stone Acacdemy’ 명으로 교회와 교회 공동체뿐만 아니라 가정과 지역공동체를 연계시킬수 있는 세미나와 교육 프로그램들을 연구하여 일대일 코칭/멘토링/상담지원, 자원봉사자 양성과 선교지원교육과정을 지원하고 학부모들을 위한 부모교육, 미술치료와 원예치료 프로그램, 서포트그룹, 미디어중독예방을 위한 위탁교육, 폭력예방을 위한 안전계획프로그램등의 신규프로그램들을 확장하면서 티넥, 뉴저지에 상담실을 가지게 되었다.
In 2019, by establishing a learning community and network, a teacher college was established to nurture teachers in the Ministry of Education of churches as a Christian history who can awaken the vocation as a teacher, increase the professionalism of Christian education, and lead the next generation as field professional educators.
In 2021, the name of the organization changed to 'Stepping Stone Academy', and education programs that can connect not only the church and the church community, but also the family and the local community are studied to expand coaching/mentoring support, volunteer/mission team training, parent education, art therapy group, support groups and safe plans for violence prevention. So, as we expanded community-based education programs, we had an office in Teaneck, New Jersey along with the main office in Hackensack, NJ.
